Since the T20 World Cup 2024 began, Virat Kohli has failed to score double figures.

As he misplayed a golden duck against the USA in New York on Wednesday, Virat Kohli’s dismal performance in the T20 World Cup continued. Since the T20 World Cup 2024 began, Kohli has failed to score in double figures.

He was out for one against Ireland and could only muster four against Pakistan, captained by Babar Azam. Kohli has thus far only scored five runs in three games during the New York leg. This was Kohli’s first golden duck in the T20 World Cup and his second in T20 Internationals.

In T20Is, Kohli has fallen for a duck duck six times now. Over his last four T20I innings, Kohli has failed to score in double figures.

Speaking of the game, Arshdeep Singh’s sparkling hefty dose of pace overpowered the USA batters despite Steven Taylor and Nitish Kumar’s fighting knocks as India restricted the co-hosts to 110/8 in their Group A match in the 2017 ICC T20 World Cup at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.

In the end, Arshdeep scored an amazing 4-9, while Hardik Pandya claimed two wickets at a cost of 14 runs. Steven Taylor hit a career-high 24 for the United States, and Nitish Kumar contributed a vital 27 from 23 balls.

With the decision to go ball first, Arshdeep Singh dealt the USA a twin punch in the opening over of the match by dismissing Andries Gous for two and Shayan Jahangir for a duck, putting pressure on the hosts with his length and firm lines.

After making some outstanding strokes, acting captain Aaron Jones was eventually caught for eleven by Hardik Pandya.

Following a three-wicket loss, the recovery effort was initiated by Steven Taylor and Nitish Kumar in the middle. Then, Axar Patel gave his team a significant wicket of Steven Taylor, who was well-set, for 24. Then Arshdeep returned to the attack, and the bowler got rid of dangerous batsman Nitish for 27, leaving the USA down at 81/5.

Then, with 14 runs in hand, Corey Anderson and Harmeet Singh unleashed their fury on veteran pacer Jasprit Bumrah, hitting him for four and six. As he got rid of seasoned hitter Anderson for 14, Hardik Pandya claimed his second wicket of the game.
