Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot  Singh win a historic bronze medal in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team Shooting event.

This was India’s first-ever medal in shooting team event at the Olympics and the sixth medal in the history of Indian shooting at the Olympic Games.

The bronze medal match was held at the National Shooting Center in Chateauroux.

Both the 22-year-olds hail from Haryana, a state that has produced many world-class athletes for the nation.

The mixed team athletes are as opposite as two people can be but, together they form a formidable pair who fears no one when it comes to shooting.

This win also made Manu Bhaker the first Indian athlete of independent India, to win two medals in a single edition of the Olympics.

Just two days ago Manu became the first Indian woman to win an Olympic medal in shooting.

Competing for the bronze medal, Manu and Sarabjot defeated the Republic of Korea’s Oh Ye Jin and Wonho Lee, 16-10.

Manu lead the way for the team with a shot of 10.2 points whereas Sarabjot scored an 8.6. This cost India the first two points.

Sarabjot bounced back from the disappointing start by scoring 10.5, 10.4 and 10 which helped India take next six points.

There was no looking back from here as the duo displayed their talents and went on to win the game by a score of 16-10.

The athletes are supposed to maintain their calm especially when it comes to matches played for medals.

The duo Indian did exceptionally well to maintain their calm and stay on track. This victory will be forever etched in the annals of Indian sports.

The nation is proud of these brilliant athletes and wishes them luck for all their remaining matches.
