Lakshya-Sen-On-Court-India

Lakshya Sen claimed his first victory at the 2024 Paris Olympics. He beat Belgium’s Julien Carragi, 21-19 and 21-14 in the group stage of Badminton Men Single’s event. The match was played at the La Chapelle Arena on 29th July, Tuesday.

The 22-year-old Indian was pushed by Carragi, who had played a three-game contest against Christie.

The Belgian, who took a three-point lead early, relied on his all-round game and employed some well-executed smashes as he maintained his advantage for most part of the first game.

With his fine movement and range of strokes, Lakshya kept chasing Carragi before catching up at 18-18 and went on to claim the game with a smash.

Carragi made some mistakes as Lakshya went ahead in the second game and was 11-4 up at the interval. The Belgian tried to catch up, but Lakshya’s brilliance helped him achieve victory.

Lakshya Sen‘s win vs Guatemala’s Kevin Cordon in the men’s singles Group L match at Paris Olympics had been ‘deleted’ because Cordon withdrew from the ongoing Paris Olympics due to a left elbow injury.

In accordance with BWF rules for group stage play, the match between Lakshya and Cordon has been ‘deleted’. The men’s doubles match between Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty and Germany’s Germany’s Mark Lamsfuss-Marvin Seide was also cancelled due to the withdrawal of Lamsfuss due to a knee injury.
