The Future of Indian Cricket
As veteran cricketers move towards retirement, one question is gaining momentum—who will be India’s new rising stars? IPL is just a few days away, and this season is going to be different from the previous ones. This time, along with experienced players, several young talents will also make their mark with stellar performances, leaving everyone in awe.
Let’s have a look at top 5 uncapped players to watch in IPL 2025 below:
1. Suryansh Shedge – Punjab Kings
Let’s start with 22-year-old Suryansh Shedge. During the IPL 2025 auction, Shreyas Iyer personally called Punjab Kings and recommended buying Suryansh. Following this, Punjab Kings included him in their squad for ₹30 lakh.
Shreyas Iyer recommended Suryansh because he played a crucial role in winning the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. In 2024, Suryansh scored 131 runs in 9 matches at a staggering strike rate of over 250 and also took 8 wickets. His batting average of 46 was phenomenal.
It will be exciting to see if Suryansh can replicate his domestic performance in the IPL. What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
2. Robin Minz – Mumbai Indians
Next on our list is Robin Minz, who comes from the Adivasi community. In the IPL 2024 auction, Gujarat Titans bought him for ₹3.6 crore, but due to an accident, he was ruled out of the tournament.
Now, Robin is fully fit, and Mumbai Indians have acquired him for ₹65 lakh this season. He is a wicket-keeper batsman known for his powerful hitting. Interestingly, Robin Minz hails from Ranchi, the same city where MS Dhoni, the only Indian captain to win three ICC trophies, was born. Dhoni is a role model for Robin.
So far, Robin has played only 7 T20 and 2 First-Class matches, but his T20 strike rate is an impressive 181. He could be an explosive batsman for Mumbai in IPL 2025.
3. Vaibhav Suryavanshi – Rajasthan Royals
The next player on our list is Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Yes, this is the 13-year-old prodigy making headlines everywhere. You might be surprised to learn that his auction value in IPL 2025 surpassed that of many veteran players. Rajasthan Royals bought him for ₹1.1 crore.
Vaibhav gained attention when he broke Bangladesh Test captain Najmul Hossain Shanto’s record. In 2013, at the age of 14, Shanto had scored a century at the youth level. Vaibhav shattered this record at just 13 during an unofficial Under-19 Test match against Australia.
Delhi Capitals were also interested in him during the auction but couldn’t match Rajasthan’s bid. Given his young age and immense potential, it will be fascinating to see how Vaibhav performs in IPL 2025.
4. KL Sreejit – Mumbai Indians
Next is 28-year-old wicket-keeper batsman KL Sreejit. He will be playing for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025, who bought him for ₹30 lakh.
Sreejit has played 3 First-Class, 12 List-A, and 17 T20 matches. His T20 batting average is 32, with a strike rate of 146, making him a recognized power-hitter.
His recent domestic performance for Karnataka has been outstanding. With such form, he is expected to play a significant role in IPL 2025.
5. Priyansh Arya – Delhi Capitals
Another potential breakout star of IPL 2025 is 24-year-old Priyansh Arya. He is a top-order batsman, and Punjab Kings secured him for ₹3.8 crore.
Priyansh was the highest run-scorer in the inaugural season of the Delhi Premier League, scoring over 600 runs. He is also known as a six-hitting machine.
With such a track record, he has the potential to be a game-changer for Punjab Kings in IPL 2025.
